Fantastic first try with Gel Press printing plate

Gel Press printing press title graphic

A Gel Press printing plate is for mono printing with acrylic paint. Every print you make is unique and cannot be repeated.

To create amazing art prints you need the printing plate, a brayer and acrylic paint. Ordinary computer paper is perfect for printing on, but you can experiment with different mediums.

Once you have learned the basics of adding layers of paint using the brayer, then you can start to add texture.

I’m going to make a series explaining the methods in more detail, so stay tuned! In the meantime, here’s what I printed from my first play today.

Saving the best for last … Here’s Gary Barlow from Take That 😁

Gary Barlow

The image of Gary Barlow was transferred from a Specsavers magazine we received in the post.

I printed it using the ink transfer technique. Not all magazines are suitable, so you never know what you are going to get until the end.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you have enjoyed this quick post. More coming soon πŸ€“
